Argentina's Inflation Drops to 8-Year Low

Argentina closed 2025 with an annual inflation rate of 31.2%, marking the lowest level since 2017. Analysis indicates that the behavior of meat prices played a significant role, as they rose 8% in the month. This caused the category of food consumed at home to accelerate to a 3% monthly increase, the highest rate since March, despite a sharp drop in vegetable prices. Meanwhile, the report noted that goods and various services was the category with the highest increase, at nearly 5%, driven by cigarettes and personal care items. In Buenos Aires, inflation reached 31.8% for the year, with consultants highlighting increases in alcoholic beverages, tobacco, housing, and transport. Despite the significant deceleration, experts emphasize that the rise in prices remains substantial and requires ongoing attention.
